Maternity Leaves

The maternity leaves are for female employees. Under maternity leave, female workers are eligible to take 60 days of leave. The initial forty-five days of leave are fully paid. However, the next fifteen days are half-paid that is the employee receives half of their basic salary.

In addition to this, in the case of childbirth complications forty-five days of unpaid leave are offered. An employer may also provide a paid leave for 30 days. This only happens if the newborn is sick or suffers any disability. To extend this leave for an additional 30 days. There is an option to extend the leave it is counted as unpaid leave

The UAE government has introduced parental leave in the UAE. It is the very first Arab country to announce parental leave

The parents are eligible to take 5 days of parental leave with full pay. They can avail of this leave within the first six months of the newborn’s birth

  Study Leaves

The employees can take study leave if they served the organization for at least two years. The leave durations are for ten working days per year. These leaves support employees in attempting their exams stress-free

  Sabbatical Leaves

The sabbatical leaves are only for Emiratis. These leaves are different from annual leaves. The purpose behind these leaves is to provide workers with paid leaves for their national service. The national service duration ranges from 11 months to 3 years. The service is compulsory for males however, it is optional in the case of females.
